In the possession of the artist
Words and writing have been continuously passed down for centuries. But which information is preserved along the way, which is lost or distorted? The susceptibility to error grows the greater the temporal distance and the more often a text is duplicated. The artist illustrates the copying process as a constant searching, dissolving, and deciphering.
The artist’s hand dissolves into threads. Instead of a single version, multiple versions emerge, coexisting simultaneously. Although the fabric is intended to serve as a vessel for memory, here memories blur with new experiences and realities. For memories are not passive records but active
constructs—reassembled, interpreted, and often altered in the very moment of remembering.
The artist poses the questions: When does memory become a form of transmission? How do we remember, and what do we remember? Am I merely a copy of my own memory? Through the use of mirror imagery and the repetition of motifs, the artist creates a complex construct that calls into question the existence of any proof regarding the original state.
