Alice Bidault

2021

Hemp, cotton fabrics, shells

Courtesy Galerie Pietro Spartà, Chagny

Alice Bidault draws on the "Quipu" knotted script of the Inca, which has only been partially deciphered. Knots, materials, and colors take the place of letters and numbers. Bidault plays with layers of meaning, weaving a network of signs and contents. We are free to lose ourselves within it – just as in the ever-newly transmitted writings of the New Testament.
